Bells and Whistles

Linked Video
  1. Let's say that you found a cool video on school tube, teachertube, or youtube that you would like to put in your slide show. These videos aren't saved to your computer, so you can't use the insert tool. You'll have to make a hyperlink on your slide. Type the word "Video" on you slide.
  2. Open up Internet Explorer and go to the website of your video.
  3. Go back to your slide and highlight the word "Video."
  4. Right click on the highlighted text and select "Hyperlink."
  5. Click on "Website."
  6. Instead of typing the website name, try clicking the website's tab at the bottom of your screen.
  7. Go back and look at the hyperlink window. It should have the website's name there, if not, then type the website name manually.
  8. Click "Save" and you are done.

Embedded Video
  1. Let's say that you made a video with your class or you downloaded one from an Irving ISD website onto your computer. Go to "Insert."
  2. Select "Movies and Sounds."
  3. Select "Movie from File."
  4. Find your movie and click "Insert."
  5. You will be prompted to chosse whether or not you want the movie to show automatically, I say no. It gives you time to verbally introduce the movie to your audience.
  6. Resize the movie window how you like.
  7. Click "Save" and you are done.

Embedded Music
  1. Refer to Day 4, Anthem and Music.

Background with Shaded Color
  1. Right click on a blank space on a slide and select "Background."
  2. Click on the drop down menu and select "More Colors."
  3. Select a color shade appropriate for this particular slide or for the whole slide show.
  4. Click "Ok."
  5. Hit the drop down menu again and select "Fill Effects."
  6. Here you can play around and decide what effects you would like.
  7. Click "Ok."
  8. Click "Apply" if you want this on one slide or click "Apply to all." if you want this on all slides.

Background with Picture
  1. Find a picture that you would like for a background and save it on your computer.
  2. Go to your PP and right click on a blank space on a slide and select "Background."
  3. Click on the drop down menu and select "Fill Effects."
  4. Click on "Picture."
  5. Click "Select Picture" and find your picture on your computer.
  6. Click "Insert."
  7. Click "Ok."
  8. Click "Apply" if you want this on one slide or click "Apply to all." if you want this on all slides.
